This year as we sorted through more children’s Christmas list than ever before, I thought how blessed we are to have such a beautiful group of families who step into the brokenness of life and help reveal the beauty within. I would like to share one such list. A list from a little girl of nine, with a bike and a wish for American Girl Doll accessories, LOL’s, and snow clothes for next year’s trip out west. Typical items listed in no particular order, but at the top of her list was her most cherished of gifts, she wanted a mom and a dad, an adoption for Christmas.
Could it be possible, one had to think, no way, well maybe, it is Christmas, I think. Santa and Mrs. Clause were all in a bother, she wants to be adopted! She wants a mother and father! With the help of his Elves, Staci, Carla and Alexis, they set off to see if it could maybe possibly be.
So right before Christmas, with lots of commotion, a little girl enters a room before a judge with a motion. What could this be? Let me see! A motion for adoption, why it’s an adoption decree! As the judge looked down from her chair on High, the little girl could not dare look her in the eye. Is this what you want the Judge asked with a smile, the little girl said yes, for a very long while.
So with a stroke of a pen, the motion is signed, she now has her family she can call all mine. Congratulations to Santa and Mrs. Clause, Merry Christmas to your family, and Merry Christmas to ALL!
