In 2012 our executive director, Ken Maxwell, met Gia Tutalo-Mote from the Forever Family organization in Florida. At that moment a tremendous partnership was formed. Gia, an Emmy award-winning television producer/reporter, founded the Forever Family organization in 2002 as a small grass-roots initiative on Miami’s WTVJ-NBC 6. Since then Gia has grown the organization into a multi-station initiative with appearances on multiple NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX affiliates in Florida.
Sponsored by Seven Homes, and the Give a Child a Voice campaign, the North Carolina Forever Family Program produces news stories and on-air video promotions which highlight children in foster care who are searching for adoptive families. The stories are then aired on major broadcast television stations and are, hopefully, viewed by the perfect families for the children highlighted in the videos. Forever Family was named for it goal of matching foster children with stable, loving families.
